Au Natural 1

This season, I am entranced with gluing "natural objects' onto some different supports- canvases and cradled wood panels. This has turned into my natural objects series. I took a bunch of pine cones, pine needles, sticks, leaves and fall flowers right from the ground where I was painting and glued them onto the canvas, and also stuck them into some wet, creamy gesso. In some places, I painted their shadows and also put more paint on them.

I've been experimenting with different glues and methods of gluing, and also just the whole process of how to make these paintings.   These are natural objects, so I'm not quite sure how they will react over time, which is part of what fascinates me.  I've made these paintings so any changes that happen should fit in or even enhance what's there already. They all have many layers of glue and varnish on them to preserve them as they are. If you are interested in purchasing them, you should realize that some small changes might happen- a slight change of color, or a few small pieces falling off...but that's part of the fun! :)
